My experiences as a patient have been excellent. My initial visit a couple years ago was for a torn hamstring. He discouraged me from surgery due to several reasonable factors, such as my age and activities, and instead recommended physical therapy to regain most of the capabilities. The advice was conservative and the outcome accurate and highly satisfactory. When I returned for an unrelated hip replacement this year the results were excellent now a month later. His consultation, recommendations and coaching are very careful, considerate and spot on. Since my other hip was replaced seven years ago when in another state, this was an even better experience. I recently had surgery for a torn meniscus and was referred to Dr. Davies by my son in law who is a surgical nurse. My experience was wonderful, the operation a total success and zero pain afterwards. I had a prescription for pain meds but did not have to take a single pill. Two weeks later I am back walking 2-3 miles a day and will be back to my normal 4 miles a day within a week or two. One of the best decisions I have made.

Fractured left ankle 2 years ago. Dr. Davies inserted 2 screws to help with dislocation while the fracture healed. Best part is that he chose to remove the hardware and not leave it in place. Ankle is almost as good as new, very happy with the results. He is also treating me for an eventual left knee replacement. Not looking forward to that reality but I know I am in the care of one of the best.

Couldn't have been more pleased with Dr. Davies and his PA, Steve. I had a total hip replacement done and the experience was outstanding! Great bedside manner, thorough, skilled and very easy to talk to.

This guy is one of the most amazing individuals that I have had the very good fortune to have had perform surgery to my tibia and fibula of my lower right leg. Dr. Merkow is personable, straight forward, and patient. He explains conditions well, is excellent with questions, and does a really good job of presenting options and counseling with respect to treatment. I originally consulted with him approx. 20 years ago and was glad to be seeing him again.
