Spine Support Centered Around You

This blog post comes to you from OAW’s Spine Center! Here at Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin, we have a wing of our clinic dedicated to our spine specialists and the patients they treat. You will recognize it by its calming green color and the photos of varying spine portrayals that gracefully decorate the hallway as you walk into an exam room where you are provided with the answer to a healthier tomorrow.

Our spine providers include two pain management specialists (Dr. Vo and Dr. Zoeller), a sports medicine and spine specialist (Dr. Englund), and a fellowship-trained spine surgeon (Dr. Tjarksen). We are also welcoming an additional spine surgeon to our practice in the fall-Dr. Paul Johnson! Back pain, whether acute or chronic, has become a mainstay in our society, and our team of specialists is here to help. We provide services such as spinal steroid injections, spine-based physical therapy, medication and treatment management, and minimally invasive spinal surgeries, some of which can even be performed in The Orthopaedic Surgery Center attached to our clinic.

Our spine team of physicians works together to come up with a multidisciplinary treatment plan that provides the best possible results for our patients. We start with the most conservative treatments first in the hopes that we can get people back to healthy, active living without needing a surgical procedure. If conservative management is exhausted, we progress to minimally invasive procedures.

Our Ortho ASAP clinic assists our spine center and allows us to get people who ‘throw out their back’ working in the yard on a Saturday in to see a spine doctor in an expedited fashion. We can obtain xrays (and MRIs if warranted) on site to better help diagnose. We can take steps to alleviate a patient’s pain until a surgical consult is on the books. We can walk people down to the east side of our building to set up a therapy program, we can taken them to our medical equipment specialty area for a back brace, or we can have people come to the west side of our building to have an epidural steroid injection or even discectomy. We are one-stop shopping for top-notch care of your spine!

Comprehensive, collaborative, convenient-that’s the OAW Spine Center motto. The next time back pain puts a wrench in your day, don’t let it affect everything you do. Come see the friendly folks at Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin in Pewaukee, Wisconsin!
