Care That Is Actually Urgent
Care That Is Actually Urgent

Welcome to the first of many blog posts by Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin where “There is a Difference” in how we have treated our patients for over forty years of practice. We are a clinic specializing in orthopedic care conveniently located just north of Interstate 94 in Pewaukee, Wisconsin where we can serve the greater Milwaukee, and even Chicago, areas. Musculoskeletal injuries and conditions (pertaining to muscles, bones, and their surrounding tissues) are our wheelhouse. We strive to keep people across varying ages and demographics living healthy, active lifestyles regardless of what life throws at them.

Our clinic is home to fifteen orthopedic surgeons, two pain management physicians, a sports medicine primary care physician, and two anesthesiologists as well as eleven physician extenders. We cover all specialties in the realm of orthopedics from upper and lower extremity specialists to joint specialists to back experts and everything in between. We treat and evaluate acute and ongoing chronic issues whether they be work-related, sport-related, or just plain life-related.

A unique feature of our clinic is our Ortho ASAP service that specifically treats acute and urgent injuries and conditions. We are readily available to triage and provide specialty care for new musculoskeletal injuries, not only during the day, but until 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays from 9:00 until noon. Our goal is to provide a less expensive and more timely alternative to urgent cares and emergency rooms where you are also seen by an orthopedic specialist right off the bat. This service provides you expedited care without the need for unnecessary appointments that simply turn into referrals and minimal care of your injury rather than timely and appropriate treatment.

For instance, maybe your child is playing in a baseball game and sustains a wrist injury when he is hit by a pitch. His pain is significant, it’s 7:00 at night, and he has to go to school the next day. Rather than wait for a couple hours at a local emergency room, we provide a convenient, close-to-home option. Your child can be x-rayed on site, diagnosed right away, and subsequently treated accordingly whether it be in a cast, in a brace, or with ice and rest. No appointment needed. Most insurances accepted. Elite care provided.

Whether you were hurt on the job, playing a sport, or while spending a weekend up north, we have you covered. Walk in. Be seen. Walk out. Come see us at OAW!
