How do I determine if I need OAW’s ORTHO-ASAP Clinic or an Emergency Room?

OAW’s ORTHO-ASAP Clinic treats non-emergent injuries like broken bones, sprains & strains, minor dislocations, lacerations, sports- and work-related injuries. Many of these injuries do not require an emergency room trip. If you have a life-threatening injury, an open fracture, excessive bleeding, head trauma or spine injuries, immediately go to the nearest hospital/emergency room.

OAW’s ORTHO-ASAP Clinic is just like an urgent care center. While urgent care clinics treat many different illnesses and injuries, OAW’s Ortho-ASAP Clinic is dedicated to caring for orthopaedic injuries.

What is the co-pay? Is it due at our visit?

OAW’s ORTHO-ASAP Clinic charges the same co-pay as a doctor’s office, which is generally cheaper than an emergency room or urgent care. If your plan requires a co-pay, it will be collected at the time of your visit. If you currently do not have insurance coverage, we require a $250 deposit at the time of your visit.

The providers at OAW’s ORTHO-ASAP Clinic will complete a clinical note documenting the care and treatment you received at our ORTHO-ASAP Clinic. This information will be forwarded to your family doctor or primary care physician upon finalization and completion.

What if I need emergent care during normal business hours?

Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin offers same-day and next-day appointments during our daytime hours. If you need immediate care for new, urgent orthopaedic problems, we would be happy to see you in our office.
