Patient Reviews

  • Dr. Al-Shihabi is an amazing doctor! I was skeptical that anything could be done with my wrists, but he has made me confident that I have the right doctor. He is attentive to my concerns and issues, and NEVER makes me feel rushed. I've had surgery done, and am much better than I expected to be. He tells me exactly what is going to happen - and he is spot on. I would DEFINITELY recommend him as a hand/wrist surgeon!

  • After carefully researching online for an orthopedic specialist, I chose Dr. Al-Shihabi at OAW for a broken wrist. I have complete confidence and trust in him as his credentials are stellar. He suggested surgery after trying physical therapy and cortisone shots first. He explained the possible scenarios with surgery, and I have an MRI scheduled so he can assess exactly what will need to be done. He explained everything clearly and never had me alarmed by mentioning surgery at any time previously. He just took the necessary steps until it was inevitable to mention it and I respect that. Dr. Al-Shihabi has a great bedside manner and is very compassionate. He listens and does not hurry through the visits. Also, I need to mention the staff at both the Brookfield and Pewaukee offices. Everyone is very pleasant and happy. When I first called for an appointment, they fit me in as soon as they possibly could which was greatly appreciated.

  • In the last few years I've had 3 procedures done. Hip, hernia and elbow. I have never had a bad experience yet. Everyone has always treated me in the best and most professional manner. My primary is out of the system due to my confidence in him but whenever I need something done this is the only place I will ever come

  • I had my thumb and index finger knuckles on my right hand 'repaired & replaced' by Dr. Al-Shihabi. The day surgery center is a great setup for your patients. Everyone is professional, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. I much prefer going there than the hospital.
Dr. A-S seems very capable. I have been seeing him for 2.5 years getting cortisone shots leading up to the recent surgery. I am particularly impressed by his written explanation of what to expect: pain management, dressings, activities, therapy, and recovery time line. As soon as the surgery was scheduled I received his documents via email. It was a great help in scheduling the next three months of my life, what to expect, what I could do, and what to prepare for. At discharge this was all reviewed again with my wife. I appreciated the thoroughness and clarity that was on paper for me to be able to refer to as needed. Of all my various surgeries over the years these were the best instructions I have ever received.
