Our orthopaedic physicians share their knowledge, skills, and experience to the broader medical community through teaching and publishing at the local, regional, and national levels.

Our Founders

Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin has deep roots. Dr Alfred Kritter established his orthopaedic surgery practice in Waukesha in 1960, soon to be joined by Dr. Charles Desch in January of 1962. Together, they provided exceptional Board Certified orthopaedic specialty care to Waukesha County and received national recognition for their innovations in orthopaedic surgery.

Consistent with the beliefs of our founders, the physicians at Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin are dedicated to using progressive treatment techniques in the most efficient ways. The ultimate goal is to restore patients to their highest possible levels of orthopaedic functioning.

Their commitment to high standards of patient care, solid education, teaching, and rigorous research has provided Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin with a firm foundation to carry out its mission:

"Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin is committed to providing the highest quality specialized musculoskeletal care to the patients and communities we serve.”
